Background of PCPH Medical Practice
The PCPH Medical Practice was initially established in Hong Kong by the late Dr. K.A. Goh following the conclusion of the 2nd World War in the late 1940s. Dr. Goh realised that the economic situation of his patients was of primary concern in post-war Hong Kong. His vision was to provide comprehensive medical treatment to patients in an affordable manner.
Founded by the late Dr. K. A. Goh, a Respiratory Specialist, our clinic has grown to offer a wide range of medical services. With each generation, we have expanded our expertise to ensure that individuals and families receive holistic, patient-centered care. This began when Dr. Victor Goh returned from overseas training to provide specialist cardiology services. Then, after completing his training in the UK and the US, where he worked as a Family Physician, Dr. Winston Goh returned to Hong Kong to obtain his Specialist in Family Medicine credentials and to continue his father's and grandfather's legacy. With over 20 years of experience as a Family Physician, Dr. Winston Goh brings a comprehensive skillset to the medical practice.
To follow as much as possible the original intentions of the founder, the following principles will be upheld for managing patients in our Practice.
-
First, when patients show up at the practice needing specialty medical services not covered by current providers, they will be referred to medical specialists who share the same work ethic as the practice. This means providing the necessary care that is appropriate and within the patients' budget.
-
Secondly, in all cases, the medical service providers of the clinic will assess the patient's needs to ensure their condition is covered comprehensively, both in terms of diagnostic investigations as well as for the treatment itself.
-
Thirdly, the treatment plan will be thoroughly discussed with patients, first presenting all options and then recommending the most suitable therapeutic approaches, with a focus on non-invasive and cost-effective choices as the initial preference.
-
Fourthly, all investigative data collected on a patient will be returned to the patient to assist with future reference.
-
Finally, patients can be referred to the government sector, if desired, whenever necessary to reduce their reliance on expensive treatment.
